Here is a small portion of the yelling, screaming (yes, screaming), and just plain old liberal whining that went on at Ann Coulter’s speech at UCONN the other night.

I don’t know what’s worse; to know that the college paid Coulter to appear for this speech and the students acted like heathens or that their parents pay for them to be educated in this enviroment.

To think that this group of young people are our future business, medical, political and education leaders is very scary.

I hate to tell you this Ian, but I know several conservatives who also can’t stand Ann. They feel she demeans their stands. Seriously, they hate her more than liberals do cause every time a liberal brings her up in an argument they have to agree.

wow, great argument to support this disrespectful behavior carolm. (/sarcasm)... I love how liberals can’t ever deal with the issue at hand, and have to divert. Anyway, what happened to Ann was just another example of “free speech” “tolerant” libs, right?

    carolm,
I do not necessarily agree with Coulter but it is totally uncalled for a group of young adults to act like spoiled children in this way. She was an invited guest speaker, if they did not want to hear what she had to say it would of made a larger impact if they had not of shown up at all to hear her.

I do not agree at all with Sheehan, Hillary, Pelosi, Blanco, Clinton, Dean, Kerry and others but I would not of stood in an audience screaming obsenities. I would never attend any of their speaking engagements. This way there is always one less person to be in the room with them letting them think that anything they have to say matters to the way I feel.

Let us face FACTS, to you liberals that means: “1. something known to be true: something that can be shown to be true, to exist, or to have happened. 2. truth or reality of something: the truth or actual existence of something, as opposed to the supposition of something or a belief about something.

The liberals have no arguments, no plans and are devoid of any moral/spiritual standards; and in their pursuit of a socialist utopia in America, they want to see us defeated in Iraq and have to at last bow down to Europe.

So, when Coulter or any intelligent Republicans speaks, all your side is left with are lies, half-truths, character assasination, legislating through the courts and shouting to drown out the truth. These liberals morons were down-shouting Coulter because – she is mostly right on the issues and they have no defense for their defeatist, anti-America beliefs.

The college kids are the one’s who “suck” and not Coulter. The left tout free speech but anyone who disagrees with them and their backward view of the world, they shout down and try to silence, how infantile. This is just another pathetic example of left wing indoctrination of the youth in American academia.

She’s so cool; she didn’t even let it phase her. :) I’m glad she’s on our side. If she or Hitchens switched to the “defeat in Iraq” side, it would be a sore loss for America.

From the size of that crowd, and the volume of the “you suck? chant, it sounds like maybe 10% of the crowd was participating in this childish act.

Ian’s headline says “…yelled off Stage.? Did she ultimately end up leaving the stage because of this? Or did she carry on smartly and turn it around on them?

Elguapo: Coulter had to leave because they wouldn’t stop! She is no coward, but why stand there and take that crap from a bunch of low grade, cowardly morons?

That is another reason to be afraid for our country, the left only believes in free speech for liberals and atheists, no one else is approved. They hate America, every one of the damn liberals in this country, they hate our military, our Judeo-Christian heritage and all things fine and decent that made this country great.

Is Ann Coulter at all relevant?

Coulter is, after all, a woman who supported the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma, a catastrophic event that ended the lives of 168 Americans including 19 CHILDREN.

It is utterly laughable that you people support this witch and yet you have the unmitigated gall to call liberals and Democrats “anti-American”.

    Give me a break.

Way to revise history Remission! You could join the ranks of Pelosi and Reid soon if you keep it up. Perhaps if you say Ann was for the bombing in Oklahoma on enough smear sights it will become true! Heck, it almost got people to believe that Bush mislead America into war, and that was a much bigger deal.

I really think you can pull this one off.

“My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building.” – Ann Coulter, New York Observer 8/20/2002.

Imagine that. Her only regret is that McVeigh did not pick a target that better suited her interests. Terrorism on her fellow Americans is otherwise okay!

Oh, it was a joke, you say?

Heard any good 9/11 jokes lately? How about some dead marine funnies, or amusing anecdotes covering the subject of small children being blasted apart to the extent that thier recoverable remains fit neatly inside a zip-lock sandwich bag?

The funny thing about Ann Coulter’s jokes is that she is the only one that laughs at them… every single time.

Ian’s policy is to stay on topic. If you post something totally off topic, he reserves the right to get rid of it in order to save valuable space for pertinent debating.

Umnumzana: Why did’t she take them on in a debate? It doesn’t seem like her to not do that.

Remission: So it is bad for Coulter to make a joke/comment like that about bombing the NY Times (which has been caught/proven time afer time to give totally bogus news and even propaganda/unpatriotic opinioned based news), but it is OK for Leftist to compare our troops to Hitler’s Storm Troopers, calling them “worse than the terrorists” and call our prizons that feed, shelter, give medical care, basically pamper these terrorists, Gulags and death camps?! Even with their pathetic rotating one day hunger strikes, they are eating better now than they ever did.

Drop the double standdard. I have YET to hear a democrat renounce or comdemn those remarks.

Why did’t she take them on in a debate? It doesn’t seem like her to not do that.

I don’t believe it was an option… a bunch of bratty kids that weren’t going to shut up, and obviously weren’t there to debate 1. because they shouted and chanted instead, 2. because there is no point in debating when they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about…

remission… you just spun some serious BS… tasteless anti-NY Times joke aside you started out saying about Coulter “who supported the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma”
Then when people demanded you provide basis, you come with (the expected) comment about the NY Times which says nothing about support for bombing that building in Oklahoma. I’ll even provide her response when asked about the comment.. she replied:
“Of course I regret it. I should have added, ‘after everyone had left the building except the editors and reporters.’?”

Again, yeah it’s tasteless and over the top… but clearly a joke and by no means says anything about supporting the bombing that took place… and while I wouldn’t support the bombing of the NY Times, other than being on our soil I don’t see how they are much different than our enemies.

[...] I’m no fan of Ann Coulter, I find her just too abrasive – so much so that she undercuts her own points – but just because she’s not my cuppa doesn’t mean she should be subjected to a shutting down of her right to free speech and the hysteria and venom we see unleashed toward her in this video. Funny, I never see the Bushhitler-supporting “nazis” on the right do this to people, but on the left we’re constantly seeing people throw pies (or salad dressing) at a conservative who is trying to speak. A black conservative will have Oreos thrown at him for daring to be a Republican. In the 2004 election, Democrats slashed Republican tires to keep people from voting, or invaded local Republican election offices. It is in the “liberal” districts that we find 105% turnouts, or polls opened “late” or graveyards full of voters. Good heavens, in Washington State, the sitting Democrat Governor got there via a close election during which recount after recount of “found votes” after “found votes” were performed. [...]

    I spun nothing.

If anything, all I have done is frame Coulter’s remarks within the Sean Hannity black & white paradigm. Even in her followup response, that you have so kindly provided, she expresses no sympathy for the victims of the Oklahoma tragedy and certainly no clarification on her position in relation to the events of the day.

If she is not AGAINST the bombing, then she SUPPORTS it.

Now, Sean Hannity’s black & white fantasy world aside, I go back to my statement of her relevance.

Is Ann Coulter at all relevant in today’s discourse when her speech is laden with, as you yourself describe, “tasteless and over the top” jokes about MASS MURDER?

Is it any surprise that college students would turn up to protest against a “woman” who makes “tasteless and over the top” about 19 DEAD CHILDREN and, when asked to clarify her remarks, continues to OPENLY SUPPORT ACTS OF TERRORISM AGAINST HER FELLOW AMERICAN CITIZENS?

    Get real.

For days now I have been reading on this site that diversion is a Democrat/liberal tactic, yet you have less than effectively used it here to imply that I am guilty of harboring double standards.

But I’ll play with your diversion for the moment… You spoke of comments regarding “Gulags”, and how these “Gulags” were actually in fact holiday camps where those lucky enough to be placed in them are pampered with food, shelter and medical care.

That’s a curious statement to make, especially given the fact that the US Government refuses to confirm or deny the existence of these “Gulags” and does not allow the International Red Cross to have access to them.

How is it that you are so well informed as to what happens inside these “Gulags” when the Government is so tight-lipped on the matter?
