Joe Wilson’s attorney Christopher Wolf made a brief statement earlier announcing that the family wants privacy. Looks like the Wilson family can dish it out but can’t take it in.
What’s the big deal on wanting privacy NOW and not BEFORE?

Michelle Malkin transcribes:
327pm EDT. Joe Wilson’s lawyer saying his wife and family are private. Didn’t choose to be in the public spotlight…
Lorie Byrd says:
I just saw Joe Wilson’s representative (lawyer?) on Fox News reading a statement. On the screen Fox had the representative in one box, and in the other box they had the now famous Vanity Fair picture of Wilson and Plame in the convertible. I happened to look up as the representative read the line from Wilson’s statement that said he and his wife were “private? people. To see that being read, next to the Vanity Fair picture, was too funny.

I saw that Vanity Fair image on Fox News while Fitzgerald was speaking.
It seemed very strange to me. I kept asking why the hell is that picture of them being shown? And why would they both pose in such a photo if privacy is such a big concern?

They’re the most flambouyant “private people” I’ve ever heard of. Watching Democrats is better comedy than watching their Hollywood allies. You can’t make stuff up this good.

Nobody knew Plame was a CIA agent. I had never heard of her.
PLame became a public face when people like Lewis Libby and Bob Novak exposed her to the national spotlight.
Plame’s career became ruined, thanks to Lewis Libby and Bob Novak.
America’s national security has been compromised, courtesy of Lewis Libby and Bob Novak.
The fact that Plame appears in a photo spread in Vanity Fair may be in poor taste, but it’s hardly a criminal offense.
Significantly, those photos appeared AFTER they had already become national figures.
There is no evidence either Wilson or Plame courted publicity prior to the leak.
Wilson and Plame were/are patriots. It was an enraged White HOuse administration soft on national security that busted her cover.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but it behooves us to stake out the high ground, stick to the facts, fight for justice and national security, and show we are fair and balanced, not like Liberals.
Liberals would be making excuses if Libby was their guy. We can’t allow that to happen.

Five Against Libby
There are five counts against I. Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby in the Plame Game investigation, as brought by special council Patrick Fitzgerald and the grand jury today. Strangely enough, none of them involve outing a covert CIA agent.Vice President Dick Ch…

Joust – It’s true that none of the charges are about the actual leak, but then that didn’t stop me or other conservatives for asking Ken Starr and the Republican House to throw the book at Slick Willie. His perjury about sex had NOTHING to do with Whitewater. Whereas Libby’s indictment leads DIRECTLY out of a crime of treason.
Always happy to make things clear and keep it simple.

Indisputable!
Nothing in today’s news about the indictment of Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Vice-President Cheney’s Chief of Staff, changes in any way the incontorvertible evidence cited in the Thespis Journal last Sunday. No one has even been indicted for leaking a na…

Says you. There are others that say that no crime was committed because Plame was not “covert” at the time of the “leak”.
BTW, why isn’t Bob Novak being hauled up in front of the special prosecutor?

It would probably be more accurate to say that the Libby indictment leads directly out of an investigation of a crime of treason, since there is no current proof that the crime occured.
mlgsac, did you read Fitz’ indictment? It seems that he personally thinks Plame was a covert agent at the time by definition. Unless you’re a lawyer of similar reputation than I’ll gladly take his word over that of anyone else.

and on your question regarding Bob Novak, well gee, let me see someone with access to classified information leaked out the name to Novak – Novak is not the one who did anything illegal, it was the “someone” who gave him the name, and I’m sure Novak has spoken to Fitzgerald’s prosecution about that. Unless Novak himself had security clearence and legal access to that information, he himself cannot be accused of any wrongdoing.
