wmeyer, you have a point that the guys statement surely echo the hate spilled by ones who have commited genocide. But still, this guy isn’t even a currently employed professor, he is some fringe wacko who says something outrageous and offensive and that’s it. Obviously if you look hard enough you’ll be able to find a black dude who says all whites must be killed, just as you can find a white dude who says all blacks should be kills, but what the heck is the point??? Such kind of reporting is divisive and distorts the truth about any race. At the end people will have aquired more of the same stereotypes that we’re trying to eradicate.

Firstly, the statement Kamau Kambon made was not racist. The words “racism” and “racist” implies a connection with a system used by one group of people to deny other people rights. To be “racist” one group needs to have an economic, political, and social advantage over the other group. I have grown weary of everyone using this word out of context.
Secondly, why is it when a black person speaks meanly about white people he is crazy but when whites say the same thing about blacks they are not considered crazy? It is considered par for the course. I think people need to check their own feelings and views before making such comparisons.

This man is like a modern day Don Quixote. He is very intelligent, principled, and driven by ideology to the extent that he has successfully disvested himself completely from consumer culture, which he deems poisonous and “psychological enslavement”. Like Don Quixote, he is an eloquent speaker, he is for the most part lucid and rational, but the conclusions he comes to about reality are not even marginally acceptable or feasible. While his knowledge of African history is peerless, he has constructed a conflict of polarized good and evil that by its nature can only be won with the utter extermination of the other. Now is he is a demi-celebrity because of his remarks on October 14th 2005. He has clearly lost touch with reality, but there is something there. Don Quixote thought windmills were giants and that a flock of sheep were two armies about to collide. He is quite crazy, but through his folly he unveiled things we would not otherwise see. His words are incendiary, but sometimes it takes someone like this to spark debate in places it would not normally occur. Consider his evidence; you don’t have to agree with his remedy. But consider the fact that there may exist a struggle to this day, and that history and the lives of many black americans may be so wracked with this struggle that some can reasonably come to such conclusions.

If one racial group is denying another of the right to be alive—I think that very well qualifies as racist. “You are __, you don’t get to live.” That’s racism honey. And if all of one racial group are killed by another (thus denying them the right to live which = racism, as we have already covered)than the group that is still living has a lot of economic, political and social advantage over the other. Duh. If there are 20 people going out for the same job as you and 15 of them die- you have a better chance of getting the job right? Right.
So one more time- are Kambon’s comments racist?
