Expose the Left
October 25, 2005

On The Today Show this morning, Al Franken made the same remark he made on Letterman Thursday night:

Franken: So I think that Rove and Libby will be executed.”

This drew laughter from not only Lauer but from the studio crew. Franken continued to bash conservatives while gaining more laughter from the crew behind the camera. This was a big brew-ha-ha for the folks at Today, and I am sure Katie was dying to join in.

This is crucial and important news. Thanks Ian! It gives us politically correct conservatives something to be outraged by. Outrage is good. Afetr all, it shouldn’t just be liberals that get to be eager to be offended. Spread the love! We can all act like liberals and complain about trivial stuff that doesn’t matter.

(I am being sent messages that an Italian newspaper La Republica has just printed an investigative report about the forged Niger documents that puts Stephen Hadley and maybe Larry Franklin right in the middle of circumventing the CIA and getting them directly into the hands of Dick Cheney. I tried doing a google search, but can’t find any English language translation, and for all I know it is a big hoax. But something to keep the eye on rather thand wasting time on a sick puke like Al Franken.)

Ian, you keep saying dems have no sense of humor. I mean this is obviously a joke.

I never said that it wasn’t funny, it just isn’t funny in the ‘traditional ha-ha sense’. Perhaps if you have some type of sick twisted humor it could be funny.. I never thought Franken was funny, even before he was openly political (i.e. SNL)

Franken wrote a lot of skits I will bet you laughed at. He wasn’t in all of them by any means.

It just dawned on me that if Stephen Hadley is involved, this takes it right to the office of Condi Rice, who was NSA.

And now George Tenet is DENYING he ever told VP Cheney about Plame.

I had heard that Powell had a document naming Plame and said only CHeney and Rove saw it. I always thought that was the source, but I could be wrong. Not that Powell wanted to out her, but that he did show to the boys who did what they did with the info.

b b tweed: leave Ian alone, its his blog to do what he wishes with it and, IMHO, he’s doing a good job with it. I’m sure that if what you are chasing actually exists, Ian will have the video . . . :D

    carolm,

Al Franken hasn’t been funny for at least 5 years. And I suspect that if the tables were turned (“Stephanopolis and Carville will be executed”) you would be howling about how innappropriate that was. You’d be saying that’s just how Conservatives are: “They look mean”.

mlgsac, point taken, and Ian does a great job with the website, but I’d be lying if I said that outrage over trivialities is classic leftist behavior, and we’re better than that. That’s all. Apologies if I’m offending anyone, but I am deeply disappointed in the administration. We control the White HOuse, Congress, Senate, and we’re falling apart. We’re better than this.

mlgsac, if it was Limbaugh saying the same thing about Stephanopoulis and Carville, I would expect wingnut leftist loons to be “howling.” But since when did we decide debasing ourselves and acting like politically correct leftists become our m.o.? Seriosuly, we’re better than that. Right?

    billy bob,

I’m in no way politically correct and in truth, don’t really give a rip about what Al Franken has to say. Its just interesting to me the double standard that exists.

I too am very disappointed with what is taking place within the government. A great opportunity has been missed because of “inside the beltway disease” and now the left is trying to exact their revenge for the impeachment of billy jeff.

Letterman’s “humor” is dry and most of the time, inappropriate.

FWIW, the Washington Note is reporting:

Indictments Coming Tomorrow; Targets Received Letters Today

An uber-insider source has just reported the following to TWN:

    1. 1-5 indictments are being issued. The source feels that it will be towards the higher end.

    2. The targets of indictment have already received their letters.

    3. The indictments will be sealed indictments and “filed” tomorrow.

    4. A press conference is being scheduled for Thursday.
    ————————————————-

Pure speculation? Disinformation? Or the goods? Right now, I’m 2/3 leaning to the latter. If they leaked, lied or obstructed, indict and throw the book at them. Our White House can not abide traitors and weakening national security at a time of war.

Geoffrey Dickens is right. As he writes on Newsbusters (the fantastic Media Research Center’s blog), when Pat Robertson asked for the United States to think about assassinating the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, media chased him like a pack of rabi…
