Tampa, Florida — If you’ve been to a Bucs game this season, you’ve seen and felt a difference — you get patted down before entering the stadium.

But on Thursday, the American Civil Liberties Union and a Bucs season ticket holder are taking the owners of Raymond James Stadium to court.

The NFL has a rule that security pat down anyone before entering a stadium.

Gordon Johnston, a Bucs season ticket holder calls the searches a violation of his Constitutional rights. He also says the searches are ineffective, since they are only from the waist up.

It’s better than nothing?

Johnston and the ACLU filed a lawsuit against the Tampa Sports Authority. Johnston says he still will probably attend this weekend’s game at the Ray Jay.

Talk about being a hypocrite?

This is how liberty is slowly sucked out of the system. One search at a time. It’s too crazy. There must be a thousand ways to get something, anything into a stadium. This is just an excuse that some Nazi is using to soften people up about protecting their privacy rights.

I’m with the ACLU on this one. Who the heck wants to be assulted by personal searches every time they attend an event. The big brains have to come up with better ways to provide security.I hate to fly now. I don’t like being looked at or treated like a criminal.

    Being unreasonable.

From the Tampa Tribune Online story:
