This was on the second segment on last night’s Hardball with Chris Matthews. Rep. King mowed Chris over once again:

KING: Chris you want me to answer the question. Just because the President doesn’t watch you on television doesn’t mean he’s not doing his job. Franklin Roosevelt wasn’t hired to listen to radio accounts of D-Day. You’re hired to do the job and the President can do his job without having to listen to Chris Matthews or Andrea Mitchell or Tim Russert or any of the others. He is doing his job.

UNRELATED: Poll – Do you think people like Cindy Sheehan help or hurt the anti-war cause?

About time someone told these elite (in their own mind) blowhards that the world does NOT evolve around whatever they say.

Wish more elected officials would call a spade a spade….outstanding comeback by King!! :)

Thank God for Peter King, it is long past the time for Chris Matthews to be put in his place. Only wish more would do this as the media is completely out of control with hatred for President Bush as the angry Democrats are. They would rather do all they can to destroy President Bush and harm the country than to tell the truth. I quit watching Chris sometime ago, as he had all the guests on his show to lie and accuse President Bush of terrible things. Guess they aren’t smart enough to realize they have to lie to call President Bush a liar. I hope their get their clocks cleaned as Matthews did, they and the Democrats are a pitfiful group of people who know nothing but anger, hate and desire for revenge. It is shameful, disgraceful and despicable.

    Mr. Matthews,
I met you in Modesto, CA during the Arnold Schwarzenegger campaign and told you that I thought you were an honest journalist, because of your honesty during Clinton. Since then, you have degenerated to a partisan hack, please recover your integrity.
    Rep. King:
Have never been a real fan, being a westerner, but now I am. Someone needs to get into the face of the pundits who seem to think that the truth is what they say because THEY say it. Thank you.

Look towards your President – he has more truth on his side than you will ever have! Ciao and love from a Chris—tian person

Matthews got into his Bush bashing gear when it was apparent, about a year ago, that Bush would be re-elected. Chris thought his White House invitations would re-start with Kerry. That was about the time I tuned him out, when he sided with the Ohio liars.

    Tweety Gets His Feathers Singed

Representative Pete King (R-NY) laid into a smirking, adolescent Chris Matthews on Hardball last night. Here’s a quote that Tweety and his colleagues would do well to remember: Just because the President doesn’t watch you on television doesn’t mean …

Chris Matthews is a media pampered, pompadored pain in the a$$. His left-winged bias is on full view every night on that sorry news network.
The American people, Mr. Matthews, have a lower respect for so-called “journalists”, than they do for trail lawyers.
No wonder his ratings continue to sink like the Titanic.
I’d rather watch Howard Stern or listen to finger nails being dragged across a chalkboard, than put up with his rantings of man love for Bill Clinton, and all things that have to do with the democrat party.
He is a total waste of a human beings time.

Chris Matthews is the worst talk show host on TV and his ratings reveal that his show is indeed inappropriately named.it should be call SOFTBALL WITH CHRIS MATTHEWS,LMAOROTF.He is a disgrace to the media world as a whole.

In the meantime someone needs to inform Dan Abrams that he is not a liberal and that he would fare much better at a network like Fox.Dan is about the best that NBC has to offer and where is his timeslot? In the afternoon.NBC or MSNBC needs to put Matthews where he belongs and that is (actually out on the street)in the early afternoon or the wee hours of the morning as his ratings would be about the same.

    Bring Abrams to primetime.

Chris Matthews, who came to cable fame during the Clinton impeachment, was once the biggest attraction at MSNBC and CNBC.
His highly rated program, in MSNBC standards, was run repeatedly on both stations.

Now he is getting Phil Donahue like ratings and is at the bottom of the cable news program ratings war. He is a pathological liar…even claimed, when he was trying to sell a book and Bush was at 88% approval after 9/11, that he voted for Bush over Gore. For me, that was the end of my viewing…and evidently many others have followed suit.
Mathhews is a has been and Peter King, just like Zell Miller, showed him to be the very inadequate journalist he is.

Crissy is just like the rest of the Lame-stream media on the rapid decline. Zell Miller, and now Peter King know how to treat this snivelling Democrat hack that used to work for Moynihan. Crissy, Steponallofus, and Timmy Russert ALL worked for Dems, yet now they are ‘objective journalists?’ Give me a break. George Will should have quit ABC when they gave the lead job to snotty Sthephie

Steve Donohue- Matthews is a cottage industry of Bush Bashing- I doubt he is even closeto being the devil as that would mean he had some kind of intensity of thought- No Steve he thinks and I use the word with a smile, that loud and in your face stream talking is truth! I believe he could do his kind of journalism if he was for horses living in the house – he simply shouts and cuts off other talkers ok ok ok let’s move on- hey from what Chris? He truly should not even be allowed to say the Name Bush- he’s not even to be seen! Am I Chris bashing?Yes -it is time to stop letting some of this stuff get aired>

But where are the other republicans who can offer this level of rhetoric in support of conservative positions?

Jeremy- if the republicans started using thought and reason against the dimcrats- they would have to stop governing and taking care of the country – you see it’s only the people who are out of power who have this kind of free time to waste on rhetoric and name calling- I include myself as a Bush defender because I am retired(partially), hence I have lots of time to defend Bush – but really he needs no defense- the media loud empty barrels they need answering and I am proud to say Chris Matthews is a fat roly poly fellow with a loud voice>You think his momma is proud? I’d rather be Barbara Bush! ciao
