Read the Do’s and Don’t that Kos put up for his Krazy Kids.
It looks like a few of the jobless whiners broke this rule:
Don’t wear black bandanas or gas masks: Want the police to target you? Wear a black bandana over your face. Wear a gas mask. I know, I know, it’s the cool anarcho thing to do, but it’s also very foolish. If you feel you might need them later (for whatever reasons…), put them in your bag where you’ll have easy access to them.

F*# the war! Now that is really intelligent and clever repartee! This four letter acronym stands for Fornication Under Consent of the King, that is, permission to have sexual intercourse. Now let us think about the how clever this comment is! Apparently this person desires to have sexual intercourse with a non-physical thing – war! That isn’t even possible! How are you liberals going to have sexual relations with a war? Why would you want to engage in what is usually a physically pleasureable sexual activity to protest a war? If these morons want to protest the war, as stupid and as wrong as that may be, at least for goodness sake have something original, creative and meaningful to say against it, F*# the war is a inane and idiotic thing to say in this context!
No wonder the guy hid his face in that ugly mask, anyone that stupid should hide from everyone!

I’m curious how Michelle Malkin was able to walk around in that crowd and not be attacked. She has a very recognizable face. Well… I guess if she wore sunglasses she’d look like any other Asian girl in sun glasses.
Also, I know a lot of Californians who go to Berkeley for these sorts of things just for the free freak show and not because they support the cause. I wonder how many people at the rally fall into that category.

Hey how low can you sink if you make fun of someones looks. How would you feel Ian if they put some close up of one of your friends who has acne on there (I assume you don’t of course, being squeaky clean, perfect and lilly white)
Ugh, give me a moonbat anytime over superior jerks who make fun of someones looks.

carolm,
There’s a man who regularly goes to various protests in Berkeley who puts some sort of saline solution in his testicles before the protest. Then he walks around naked with testicles blown up to be the size of a cantaloupe.
Am I allowed to make fun of that guy?
(Check out the pictures from the Ward Churchill book fare on March 26th from zombietime.com if you don’t believe me, and there’s even a link to the do-it-yourself kit for those interested)

Ian, I had acne well into my twenties. It sucked, I will bet many of your friends do still, I work with and supervise college students at my job and several still have acne, if anyone and I MEAN ANYONE made a joke about their looks, or weight at work I would kick their ass. But I value people based on their contributions and character.

Ian, you know nothing about these people. Just because someone is against the war doesn’t mean they don’t work. I am a liberal and I have a job.
I can’t believe you said that, don’t you see how that gives conservatives a bad name to take that attitude? I mean I see why liberals get a bad name sometimes, like Micharl Moore can be smug, but conservatives need to look at their act too.
Talking like that just makes you look bad and no one wants to listen to your cause.
(by the way, do you live with your parents?)

carolm,
Hannibal is my real name. Don’t you care about my feelings?
Okay, I’m joking. Hannibal is Carthaginian for “Beloved of Baal” while my real name is Hebrew for “Beloved of God”. Plus I think we can appreciate the merits of the man’s abilities and at the same time condemn his un-Christian behavior. The Romans were every bit as brutal, but they got to write the history books.
A hypothetical question: If Don Rumsfeld inflated his scrotum with saline solution would the liberal media like CBS, ABC, NBC, and the New York Times respect his feelings?
The point is that sometimes you have to look at not only the message, but the messenger. You can’t take the opinions of some people seriously based on their looks. If Rumsfeld gave a press conference on the Iraq war naked, with an inflated scrotum, you would agree with me on that point.
1:12 pm [ Quote ]
Hannibal: I am not sure what your point is, but I give you an A+ for being creative and decidedly not boring! Maybe I just go blind and lose my ability to comprehend you when I get the image of a nude Rumsfeld in my head! I like and support him, but that is not an image easy to escape from!

carolm, these people are “professional” protesters, meaning they go from protest to protest. The meaning of protest has changed in the last 40 years.
btw: Yes I do live with my parents .. isn’t it normal to when you’re 17 … not when you’re 30.
Last week, around 5pm there was some moonbat protest out side of my local recruitment center. I’m not sure why though, the community I live in is pretty liberal. Anyways there was about 20-30 of them. It was pretty obvious that they didn’t have a job because they would be there. I don’t think it’s really a stereotype anymore .. it’s pretty obvious these people don’t have jobs.

Um:
Do I agree with Cindy Sheehan on every point she’s made? No, I don’t. Do I support her right to spout off? YES. That doesn’t make me a Cindy sympathizer, or a kool-aid drinker or a Moore worshipper.
And would you please please please STOP already with equating those who are against the war with traitors? I am against this war. I have never publicly protested, however. I believe that there are many more people like me than there are like Cindy Sheehan. Not everyone against this war is a foaming-at-the-mouth moonbat (and I yes, I recognize they exist), and I’m tired of hearing that anyone who is against the war must be such a person. It simply isn’t so. In fact, fairly recently I read an article in which many Republicans/conservatives were now voicing their concerns over this fiasco of a war. Are they traitors too?
I would respectfully ask you to engage in a bit of “what if?” for a moment. What is it that you think will happen if we were to pull out of Iraq that hasn’t happened already? How are we any safer now than we were four years ago? Is it not even remotely possible that by invading Iraq we’ve actually created more terrorists in response to our occupation of that country? And finally, I’d like to know what your definition of a victory is, since you seem so hell bent upon achieving one.
7:18 pm [ Quote ]
Mitz: These people are not ignorant about our recent history, about how American protests against the war in Vietnam, caused us to leave the battlefield in disgrace. Not because we didn’t have the ability to win in the field, not because our cause was not just, but rather because what we had was a hysterical, weak sister left in this country that was able to join in spirit with the North Vietnamese, and encourage them that if they could just get the body count high enough, we would withdraw and they would win. They were right! The terrorists in Iraq are right! I know, I have many dear friends who never came home from that damn jungle, brave soldiers doing their duty, shot in the back by American Protesters, and the North Vietnamese only pulled the physical trigger for them. Now we see it all over again, not that Iraq is another Vietnam, but the same weak sister, cowardly leftists that don’t want to sacrifice anything for liberty are back at it, they hate American and the idea they can once again get us to leave another country in disgrace is just too tempting for them!
Please stop bringing up Abu Graib, what went on there was not pleasant to look at, but it was hardly torture, and the enemy didn’t need or use this as an excuse to kill Americans, it was simply convenient to use to incite other Muslims, to help raise money for weapons, and help them scam young men into being living bombs. Please don’t talk about Abu Graib when these damn murdering Islamic Terrorists cut off the heads of innocent journalists, foreign civilian workers only there help to rebuild Iraq and feed people. Please, don’t you dare offer any moral equivalence between our soldiers at Abu Graib or Gitmo and those damnable murderers that killed thousands of innocent people on 9/11, thousands of Innocent Iraqi citizens, and Israeli’s. Please, don’t’ you dare say that, don’t repeat that lie!
For you, it is the law of unintended consequences, you want to end the war, but unintentionally you are encouraging the terrorists, just like in Vietnam, to run up the body count!
7:40 pm [ Quote ]
Uppitymonkee: Some fair comments and reasonable questions.
1. I am against the big mouthed protestors like Cindy Sheehan, and not against those simply not supportive of the war in Iraq. I even defend Cindy’s right to be a traitorous jackass. You are right though, not everyone against the war is like her and thus my comments and charges don’t apply to them!
2. I don’t want to keep going thrugh this, but I’ll repeat what I said above: “These people (terrorists) are not ignorant about our recent history, about how American protests against the war in Vietnam, caused us to leave the battlefield in disgrace. Now we see it all over again, not that Iraq is another Vietnam, but the same weak sister, cowardly leftists that don’t want to sacrifice anything for liberty are back at it, they hate American and the idea they can once again get us to leave another country in disgrace is just too tempting for them!” That is what will happen if we are forced out by these protestors, our country will forever be lost and I assure you that we will fall as a superpower, as we fight to stay alive when our economy collapses fighting the terrorists here at home.
3. What is victory? If Iraqi armed forces take over the battle against the terrorists, have a fledgling democracy in place and the Iraqi people are prospering and living in liberty, we can bring our troops home with honor and declare a hard won victory. If everything falls apart, I still believe it was worth the costs and the sacrifices to try to bring about democracy in the Middle East and through it, a chance for peace in that volitile region of the world.
I am sorry you had to ask your last question with the “hell bent” accusation, absent that it was a good question and the answer is mine and reasonable people can disagree with me.

uppitymonkey,
I don’t think we should police the world.
North Korea is different because Kim Jong Il only cares about self-preservation. Unlike Saddam he has no realistic plans outside his own borders. We should support the people there who want a better life but not intervene militarily until there is a pressing need.
I’m fairly ignorant about Iran, having not found a good source of information about it, but I think that situation is one we can handle without invasion.
Regime change is a very last resort and we didn’t even affect regime change in Iraq until 11 years of sanctions (in which children were dying and we were dropping bombs on Iraq in a time of “peace”, plus the sanctions weren’t working) failed.
I see where you’re coming from, though. In the past U.S. meddling in the affairs of other countries has turned out to be a mistake and backfired, but at other times it hasn’t. I believe and hope that Iraq is a case of the latter.
