I really suspected that the hair was not Natalee’s from the beginning. I think someone may have planted the duct tape to be found to throw officials off the scent of the true location of Natalee; maybe the Kalpoes or Paul van der Sloot, trying to make it appear that Natalee was thrown into the ocean.
I am so sorry for her mother, father, family and friends. I pray for resolution to this for them all very soon. It really breaks my heart. I have gotten too involved, I guess because I have a son who just graduated from college and I can easily put myself in Beth’s place. I wouldn’t be able to be as strong as she is though. Let’s just hope Natalee is found VERY soon!

I suspect they are never going to find Natalee cuz she was put far out into the ocean and there isn’t much of her left.
Juron is going to just wait this out, on the advice of his Dad, and at the end of 60 days, will leave Aruba and go back to Holland or wherever.
I saw Beth on Greta last night and she is so beaten down, she is afraid to say anything tough for fear of reprisal.
Her Step-father is more forceful, unlike her too nice natural Father, who seems to think they are doing all they can from the git-go. This is so sad.

I’m like you, I can’t stop thinking about the quarry. It’s just one of those nagging feelings. But it sounds as though, if Natalee’s body was dumped there, it will be nearly impossible to find.

Max and Melissa, I don’t know if you read the comment I posted on the other thread, but did you both hear about the male DNA they found on Natalee’s toothbrush that was in her hotel room?
Nancy Grace got it confirmed last night, I’m wondering if Natalee was ever seen with her ex-boyfriend at all…. or if she did indeed meet Joran then before that night…. I wonder which of Joran’s stories will match up now with this new evidence

I watched Nancy grace. I just don’t know what the signifigance of this dna could be. It was in the room and obviously whatever happened to it it happened before she disappeared. Unless it matches one of the three,cant see how they can even identfy it. Maybe thats why Jorans lawyer is trying to supress the dna test from evidence. With no body being found I dont know what other evidence they have that would have dna on it.

Melissa that quarry has bothered me ever since I heard about the circumstances and the dog hit there. Impossible to search. Close proximity to the vandersloots house. Maybe if they went around it in a boat with that methane gas detector enought gas from a decaying body would come to the surface to allow it to read. I,m sure they didn’t take the dogs around in a boat to see if they got a hit in the quarry.
It all makes perfect sense. Chris and nan both seem to think it’d be pretty hard to find someone in there. max

oh and I’m thinking they know who’s DNA is on the toothbrush maybe; I was assuming they’d sent it for testing maybe with the other evidence…. maybe they just don’t want to say whose… or maybe there is no “match” you’d have to have a sample from the person you’re trying to match it too….

They have, in fact, searched the quarry but from what Chris was saying that people basically use it as a dumping hole (people dump their old cars, kitched appliances etc.) and that finding someone would be vertually impossible. He said that it is possible but not probable.

I guess Max has a very good point then, if its not far from the home, and so easy to make something disappear there, its a good idea if they’re trying to search there again…
Melissa you mentioned someone is trying to contest being interviewed again; sorry I missed that, who is? Paul or Joran?

Melissa so is the pond empty now? I had heard they were having problems cause the sea level being at the level of the pond preventing it from pumping all the way out. I think normally it evaporates the last few inches. I saw them with a back hoe scooping mud and looked like they had a wooden chair like a antique kitchen chair. If its mud like i saw in the bottom of the thing they will have a very hard time trying to trudge around there to use the gas detector. I know from lots of duck hunting in my younger days that kind of mud is very hard to slog your way through. You sink up to your thighs in it every step. Hope its a harder bottom below that than it appeared to be when they showed the shot last night on tv. max

I went and read the transcripts from last night’s Nancy Grace. I couldn’t really find anything that said that either Joran or Paul VDS was contesting being interviewed again. I did see that LE is planning on interviewing Joran again, evidently, to see that they can find out, if anything.

I am here. I would like to know why this is happening. Someone (aincanada or hopefulcanadian) said on another blog that they think perhaps this is happening because Ian wants us to move the the blogs for Natalee forum. But apparently the people on there are very mean. I don’t want to have to deal with that again.

I was thinking, last night, about all of this posting that I have been doing over the last 2 months regarding the Natalee disappearance. It’s kinda like we have become a little family. I don’t want to bring up bad memories, but I remember quite some time ago, someone that was very mean (specfically to you) that went by the name of paul (the athiest). How things have changed since then. I think that we have quite a nice group here now.

Max, thank you for posting the link to the Amigoe paper. I haven’t been able to get to the Diario (sp?) site for the past week.

How is our family?
I’ve been working nightshift so I drop in in the morning and evening.
I’ve missed alot of news articles, so I haven’t heard where the toothbrush was found. Did BHT give it to the investigators, or was it found by the pond? I wonder why now, and not before. Or did BHT give it early on for NH dna?
Did I hear right? The gardener was going to look for a cooler place to sleep the night he saw the boys at 2;30, then Jossy in an interview said the gardener goes to the pond to look for scrap metals to sell (at 2;30 a.m.?)
I had read that the Kalpoe boys lawyers were contesting, but hadn’t yet heard or read of Joran’s lawyer stating anything. I’ve been missing alot, but I’ve tried to catch Nancy Grace and Larry King.Rumors are quite nasty, some of them, on Dan’s site. Some posters were banned, according to the forum. Max, remember Pdidy on the 3rd last site we were posting? He is not the rapper, and he came back with “Canadians are naive”, and the FBI ALWAYS get their man. Another poster and myself gave him a few examples, but he didn’t return as far as I know. This is the best site.
The Quarry is where the dogs sensed something very early on when Equusearch first started, isn’t it? I wonder, would the F 16’s not have picked something on their infrared scanners? Haven’t yet seen a good picture of the Quarry, as to how large an area it is. My mind is really blank now, can’t imagine how everything fits, it sound bizarre.
Chris mentioned that the pond was full since Ivan hit last summer, but Jossy maintained that it filled after NH disappeared. I hope the investigators aren’t on a goose chase with the rumors, and missing other valuable links.
The HT family said anything is better than nothing (searching the pond). I’m thinking that if there is some time available, wouldn’t it be an idea to recap over events and time lines rather than waste alot of time chasing rumors?
I also am feeling badly for Anita and Paul, their lives and futures destroyed. I know in the beginning I was on his back too about allowing Joran to drink and gamble, forgetting that life goes on differently in Europe, cetrtain things are allowed within the fam unit, alcohol, so it’s not a novelty when they reach a certain age to bust out and get drunk. It may happen, but their approach to alcohol is different to what I witness here.
I’m just rambling, sorry.
It doesn’t look good again for the boys though, does it? I hope the lawyers are defeated, as to the re-examining of the dna. But, if the dna should be Joran’s it still doesn’t prove he disposed of NH, if that did happen, would only prove they knew each other before the fateful night. Then where to, back to re-interview the MB school kids?
